Question: Does your wedding band travel outside of the Chicago area for performances?
Answer: Yes, absolutely! John Paris Band routinely travels well beyond the Chicago region for wedding performances (as well as corporate or other special event performances). Our dance band and other event ensembles have performed in Cancun, Las Vegas, New York, and elsewhere. We have also played music at many, many weddings and special events in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and all over Illinois.
Question: I see your dance band is a fairly large 8-piece group. What is the advantage of having this size band perform at our wedding reception?
Answer: One of the greatest assets of our group is that we perform all of our music absolutely live. That means no pre-recorded tracks or other computer gimmickry. All of the music you and your guests hear is performed by actual instruments and vocalists live. The unmistakable look and sound of an authentic live ensemble (be it for wedding or corporate event) makes all the difference when it comes to putting smiles on faces and feet and dance floors!
Question: Can you provide different types of music for the other elements of the wedding, party or event? Do you ever provide package rates?
Answer: You bet! I am always happy to put together multiple item packages for the various parts of a music program (i.e. ceremony music, cocktail music, dinner music, and/or dance band music). I am also always happy to provide a package rate when I do so. Let’s work out a program that works for you!
Question: Are you able to accommodate special song requests?
Answer: Without a doubt. John Paris Band has even been asked to learn and perform the South African National Anthem before. Seriously. It was a lot of fun for us, and it was a big hit at the party. Performing a customized repertoire, whether it is ceremony music, cocktail music, dinner music, or dance band music, is one of our specialties. We love learning and performing interesting new material!
Question: What if we have our hearts set on having something a little bit different, for example, a solo classical guitar musician for the wedding ceremony and then a string trio for the cocktail portion. Is this something you can provide?
Answer: Yes, we would certainly be willing and able to provide this and are often called upon to customize a variety of ensemble instrumentations. We provide a very versatile offering for our clients to ensure that their entertainment selections can be fielded by one source. Besides the John Paris Band, we maintain a regular roster of professional musicians from classical string players to jazz vocalists and everything in between.
